On the side of Starbucks, as you're exiting the drive-thru lane, there are two Stop signs with arrows to tell you that you can only turn one direction, but the arrows point the wrong direction. This is part of a shopping center, so it's likely the owner who's responsible for correcting. Thank you.

  • 13700 Pines Blvd Pembroke Pines, FL 33027, USA - Pembroke Pines
These collection boxes are illegal in Pembroke Pines. Please secure and have it removed. This one is at the rear of BJ's, along SW 145th. Whoever this belongs to has probably placed others around the city as well, so please be on the lookout. Commercial property owners need to be made aware they must not allow these on their properties. ALSO, there is garbage dumped along the back of BJ's, and substantial storage of excess shopping carts in back parking area making said parking area unusable for its designated purpose (and unsightly). Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

With multiple signage I'm sure was not approved, and added lights around the windows that I'm sure were not included in the approved design for this property, there are plenty of reasons for Code Compliance to visit this establishment.

There's another one of these donation bins on the little road by Cemex and Goodyear, just off NW 172nd. These are against P. Pines code. Please contact the company placing these and tell them to pickup all the ones they put in P. Pines. Thank you!

There is a donation bin in Walmart parking lot along 184th Avenue. These bins are against code.
  • Intersection Of Pines Blvd And 208th Avenue - Pembroke Pines
This light does not properly detect waiting cars. If you are on NW 208th Ave, you have to pull completely into the crosswalk to trip the light so it turns green. If you don't, you'll be sitting there a really long time.

The Pembroke Road extension from 184th Ave to 196th Ave has been completed for a month or so, yet the "Dead End" sign remains posted at 184th Ave. This should be removed immediately. (The traffic in the photo is due to school pickup time.) Thank you.
  • Intersection Of Pembroke Road And South University Drive Pembroke Pines, Florida - Pembroke Pines
I could not believe my eyes when I saw that the solid black beams/pipes that hold the traffic lights were extended over the intersection on every side to form a perfect square over the entire intersection. You have got to see the photo to believe it. I'd like to know if someone purposely had the thought "hey, this is one of the city's bad areas, let's do something especially ugly to make sure it stays that way" or is someone sleeping at the job, or just entirely clueless altogether? Even if this was a county project, I would fight them forever before I'd let them build this. If the county doesn't have to show us what they plan to do to our city... then that needs to change. They shouldn't have the right to make any part of our city ugly, and we should have the option to send them back to the drawing board. If this is not a county or state project and was done entirely by the City... I would expect there to be some job openings in the very near future. This is really bad.

Since the new Pembroke Road extension is now open going west from 184th Avenue, the Dead End sign should be removed. I'm sure it was just overlooked. Workers do still appear to be completing finishing touches, so the road work sign should stay, but people are not aware they can drive through now and the Dead End sign doesn't help.
  • 1321 Nw 87 Way - Pembroke Pines

A large wooden contraption like a treehouse was built in a tree in front of the house.

Code Enforcement needs to drive the streets in older Pines much, much more often. The are no HOA's and people do the nuttiest things, as if they were living on 3 acres of land out in the country. This drives down property values in an expanding area, which leads to less property tax revenue and more crime. Older neighborhoods should be monitored constantly to keep them looking attractive. These areas do not have to become run-down just because they're older... we can keep them looking nice, but Code Enforcement is key.

I believe this building was recently re-painted and it was a much lighter yellow before. This color is so obnoxious - I can't believe this would be an approved color for an office building in Pembroke Pines. It's even worse looking in person...the photo doesn't provide the full impact.
