vacant houses' tree caused sidewalk to rise 1-4" 78 yr old neighbor's tripped 2x & fallen on face. Electric wheelchair must go into busy street.cannot negotiate sidewalk for fear of tipping over. I have written to 1)Mayor Nutter,2)Fran Burns (Commissioner L^I) 3 letters to Wells Fargo bank, 7 phone calls to Bank of America, visited & called City Councilman O'Neills' office.   Thank you for the follow up The view has improved but only because the weather has killed off most of the tall grass but the trees are still an issue and next spring it will grow back again I was hoping for a more permanent fix . Before someone is killed or seriously hurt My daughter has to pull out of that intersection at least 2-4 times a day with my two small grand children and its still a Crap Shoot as to when she may fall victim to an accident that could be avoided buy cutting back some over grown bushes/trees that are nearly on the road way . I spoke to our local road commissioner and he told me there was nothing he could do because it was MDOT responsibility not his or in other words Tuff S--t please have someone with authority follow up Thank You

Reach Street Philadelphia, PA - Summerdale

Please tear down rest of vacant houses on block; there's probably more vacant properties on this block than there is people actually living there. Squatters break into your property change the locks, then you're told that you have to evict them from the property; crackheads constantly breaking into your property stealing your copper pipes; block is hopeless and active shopping center.

4714 Rhawn Street Philadelphia, PA - Holmesburg

There is a giant pile of trash blocking the sidewalk in front of 4714 Rhawn Street. The house also has giant weeds and litter on the sidewalk that occasionally block the path. There are also two abandoned cars parked out front - a white Honda station wagon (PA HJZ1862) that has been there 3 months and been reported to the abandoned vehicle line twice, and a red Ford Explorer (PA HSW9716) with expired registration that appeared last week, also reported to the abandoned vehicle line. The attached photo was taken this evening, 5/22/12.

  Called this to CLIP as soon as I saw this post.
  looks like a tennent moved out and just left everything. If the trash is picked up on trash day, the property owner will still get a notice to clean the property.
  FYI is does take 30 - 60 days to get a car moved, I will put them in the system again

Grafitti on Abandoned house Archived

Grafitti saying "RIP" and several other statements are on an abandoned house on Ontario between Coral St and Amber Street. The house is painted brick red as is the wood that has boarded up the large front window.

  You know nothing about termites! They're there in the ground no matter what. You can't attract termites since they have no way to detect rotting wood until they get to it. Termites don't do any harm unless they get into your house and they can't get into your house unless you have wood from your house that contacts the ground.

Recently, A landlord removed his tree,bushes and trash from his vacant property 1945
Haworth Street and threw it in the yard of a abandon/vacant home at1947 Haworth Street. I am not surprised about the Landlord behavior because he really careless about our neighbor only the rents he is collecting from Section 8/Housing Choice tenants. He should be fined, just like the other homeowner that dumped his trash into this same yard early in March. I have been fighting to keep squatters,drug dealers from coming in the neighborhood trashing those houses (3) and here the landlord/owner of at least 4 rentals on the block is trashing it. Please respond to his illegal dumping.

  This summer, Keep Philadelphia Beautiful is joining forces with recently merged PA CleanWays-Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful to combat illegal dumping in Philadelphia. Our first step will be to conduct a survey of Philadelphia’s illegal dumpsites. Our goal with this project is to identify and map all of the illegal dumpsites within the city. The data we gather will be summarized in a final report, which will be included in a first of its kind statewide report. PA CleanWays – Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful has surveyed 37 counties in the Commonwealth identifying over 4,100 dumpsites containing and estimated 14,500 tons of trash. To view the final reports of the surveyed counties visit the PACleanways – Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful website at www.pacleanways.org.
  
  Because it is necessary to complete this project by the end of September, we really need the help of each neighborhood. Please participate in the survey by supplying us with information about the location of known dumpsites within your community.
  
  What should be reported - Definition of a Dumpsite:
  The following are considered illegal dumpsites and will be included in the survey:
  Areas of concentrated trash,
  Areas of scattered trash that:
  are not considered roadside litter (bottles, fast food wrappers, cans, etc.)
  appear to have new trash thrown on them occasionally (more than twice a year)
  appear to have new trash thrown on them occasionally, but cleanup maintenance is prevalent to prevent accumulation,
  Areas containing only piles of yard waste (grass, leaves, branches, trees, etc.). These sites can often attract the dumping of other materials and can grow into major dumpsites, and,
  Areas containing isolated or solitary items, such as 1 or 2 appliances or tires that may or may not be dumped on in the future.
  
  Please send illegal dump location information via email to info@keepphiladelphiabeautiful.org or call (215) 477-0235. We will be taking information on reported sites until July 10, 2010. Please include the address including zip code and cross streets and general section of the City when you submit a site.
  Ex: In West Philadelphia there is a illegal dump site at 6421 E. Lancaster Avenue 19172, cross streets are Lancaster & Fancy Drive.

I have called WB twice about handling the overgrowth of weeds on their Cheswold Estate property. They allow the weeds to grow well over 2 ft,getting to the point of seeding all over our neighborhood! It is unsightly and someone should be taking care pof all aspects of that property, not just the front entrance that is constantly being manicured!   As of 5/17/11 one tree has been cut in front lawn on 11/20/10 with all the limbs and tree parts still on ground with weeds starting to grow over two feet tall looking bad not improving property . Grass gets a token cut with no triming of weeds growing everywhere.

Overgrown bush & trash Blocking Sidewalk Archived

2043-2049 E Ontario St Philadelphia, PA 19134, USA - East Kensington

The house on the corner of E Ontario St & Coral streets has trash all over their side yard and bush/weeds that grow over the sidewalk and block the stop sign. Pic is from the summertime so the leaves are not on the bushes now but soon it will be totally blocked not to mention all the trash that collects under it. There is now a car bumper on the sidewalk. It has to get cleaned up!

  Ticket #1556342. Ticket forwarded to Licenses and Inspections for follow-up. Once a request is entered into the system the building should be inspected within 45 business days and if appropriate a violation(s) issued and/or a plan for resolution discussed after it is inspected.
  
  The owner usually has up to 30 days to comply with violations. Thereafter, up to 3 reinspections may be conducted to ensure violations were complied or resolved. If not complied at last inspection, property will be referred to court for a judgment from the court demanding the owner to resolve the problems. In a rare case where the owner has been removed from the property by city agencies, coordinated efforts will be made to correct the outstanding violations. Thank you. (mb)

Large pile of what appears to be rolled up carpeting in front of vacant car lot at Frankford & Princeton. Not sure if this is a case of illegal dumping or if the new Psychic Shop put this out for trash collection way too early (theirs comes on Friday).
