There are people who have been illegally living inside an Recreational Vehicle as their permanent residence, behind this strip mall. There is also a blue passenger-van parked there, which is/was also illegally used as a dwelling.
It is not a temporary situation; This RV has been there for months, and nothing has been done about it by the Town of Colonie.
This is a code violation, and should be investigated at once. Vagrancy will not be tolerated in this town.

Recently, Friendly's Ice Cream stores closed many of its locations as part of its financial restructuring plan.
The Capital District lost a number of stores in this restructuring, including the store at 737 New Loudon Road in Latham.
However, as will probably be the case here (and can be easily viewed by the still-empty KFC building on Kunker Ave. which burned down 8 years ago), this building will probably remain empty for upwards of a decade or more, due to the high-tax and red-tape-filled policies of the Town of Colonie and the State of New York.
Let's see how long THIS building remains empty, adding yet another blighted property to the piles of other ones sitting around and rotting in this business-unfriendly town!

The signs for Interstate 87, US Route 9, NY Route 9R, and NY Route 7 are covered by weeds, brush, and overgrowth.
It makes it difficult for motorists who are unfamiliar with the are to know where they are going, because they can't see the signs.
The DOT or Town of Colonie or whoever is responsible needs to clean up this mess.

The KFC on Kunker Ave. burned down around 2004. Why is this eyesore still not rebuilt? The lot is absolutely disgusting! There is garbage and grafitti all over the place! People think they can just dump all of their garbage all over the place and it's an absolute shambles! The entire lot is overgrown, and the building's roof looks like it's about to collapse at any moment!
Why should it take more than 6 years to rebuild a building after it burns down in this town? Probably because the Town of Colonie is dragging its feet as usual, with all its bureaucratic rules and regulations.
Then again, the Town of Colonie is probably making out like a bandit and doesn't care anyway, because KFC is probably getting fined for all this time that the store is not opened. Or are they? Does anybody know? What is UP with all this apathy about business around here?!?!
Let's get something presentable built here SOON! Let's get New York State back to WORK again!!!

There is a relatively new traffic light at this intersection, which I understand was somewhat controversial when it was isntalled. Either way, recently the road was repaved, an though they did leave a gap in the double yellow line, there is not line telling you where to stop when the light is red. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but whoever painted the lines didn't break the double yellow until nearly under the traffic light. If you use that as a guide, you'll be way too far into the intersection. Further, visually, it doesn't really feel like your are traveling through an intersection, as there are 30 other side streets in this stretch and the light is almost always green. It would be an easy one to run, if you're not paying attention.

Roof on garage building is being replaced. Started over 3 weeks ago and abandoned, less than half completed. Have had plenty of rain-free days during this period to finish.
Also, rear side of garage was repainted only half-way last year then abandoned.
