Issues: blighted property
14 Oakwood Ave Troy, NY 12180, USA
14 Oakwood ave has been an eyesore in the otherwise blight free neighborhood. This is the only boarded up building on the entire street.
The city foreclosed on the property for back taxes about 2 years ago. Prior to that, the city kept taking the owner to court to force him to do something about the dilapidated building. He paid many fines but never did anything to the property.
Now, the city of Troy owns it and they won't even "pretty up" the facade like they were trying to force the previous owner to do!
Since it is wide open on both sides (doors and windows open), the building is filled with feral cats, skunks, gophers and other wildlife. Not to mention that it is has become a "playroom" for the most of the neighborhood kids. Eventually, someone is going to get hurt and the city is going to get sued.
If the city won't do the right thing for the neighborhood and demolish this building... they should at least board it up securely and paint the facade, remove all the weeds and trees etc etc etc. Make it presentable.
Second Avenue Lansingburgh
The owner of the white house, which is abandoned and sits back on Second Avenue between Price Chopper and Rite Aid, needs to shovel the sidewalk in front of the place which has about a foot of snow on it. Both Price Chopper and Rite Aid have cleaned their walkways. As a result, people have to walk in the street on Second Avenue which is an accident waiting to happen. A lot of elderly people walk to Price Chopper and use this walkway. The property is an eyesore where you see vagrants walking in and out of there in the summertime and the grass is a foot high a lot of the time and not maintained. The City should take action to get rid of this blight and hold the owner responsible; it's an attractive nuisance.
73-79 New York 2 Troy, NY 12180, USA
The weeds along Rt 2 as is many streets in troy are growing so large and out past the gardrails that it is a danger to bikers, people walking, and to cars. Why can't the city keep them cut back and clean up along outter streets not just downtown.
126 Presdient Street Troy, NY 12180
Vacant house that the city is proposing to tear down is Over grown with grass, bushes, weeds & trees making the area unsafe. We should not have to wait until it happens or someone gets hurt.
577 Congress St Troy, NY 12180, USA
The island at the intersection of pawling & Rt 2 is overgrown. Who is suppose to be mowing the grass and cutting back the weeds. Mr. Mayor, I thought you wanted to keep our city clean. All I hear about is city hall.
197-211 Church St Troy, NY 12180, USA
Would someone check this area between Church St and 4th. It is is where I always see the Lawn Pro trucks and people and it appears that they are turning this vacant lot into a dumping ground for everything. It was bad enough to go by the corner of Church and Division in the am and see guys out there relieving themselves. Now it appears that they have taken over this vacant lot. Somebody needs to check this out.
2800-2898 6th Ave Troy, NY 12180, USA
If DPW refuses to pick up furniture, emptied TV case (2), tires that are piling up in front of a vacant building who is going to? Where is the supervisior of DPW does he ever ck up on his workers? Please, pay attention. Sorry St. Basils about your festival this weekend NC is trashed and no one cares.
Lindwood Court Sausse Ave Troy, NY
On the property of the home at lindwood court and sausse ave there is a red Saab that's sitting in the yard with weeds growing up all around it. It's been there without plates for years. It is on private property but still is an eyesore for the neighborhood. Why doesn't the owner just have it hauled away and get a few bucks from the salvage yard?
645-649 2nd Ave Troy, NY 12182, USA
The city mowed HALF of the vacant lot of about 647 2nd ave just prior to the Memorial day parade. Hope this gets taken care of before rodents and insects/arachnids become a larger problem to the surrounding residences/businesses.

City of Troy is occupying the old Tire Warehouse and not maintaining the building or grounds.
This property has many issues besides the obvious busted windows, uncut grass. It's a real eyesore on a block where 7 other properties already sit vacant. All in better shape I might add than the building the city occupies to store city trucks and equipment.
Is this building insured with the city or are they squatting?
Either way they should maintain it if they choose to use it!

Vehicles pulling into vacant Catholic Diocese lot on Gurley Avenue across from Self Storage Units dumping unwanted garbage/debris during all hours of day and night! Not to mention all of the dirtbags that drive along and toss their garbage out their car windows. Install video cameras at storage units that monitor users comings and goings with views that pan across the street as well. Lock gates to storage units during evenings hours and install no dumping signs. Police PLEASE take notice! This is not a landfill!

This beautiful limestone front building was bought at auction going on 3yrs now. Owner never has done anything to rehab. This neighborhood has to look at this sad sight. This owner should give this building back to the City or fix it. Shame on you, and you live right here in Troy!
