8061 Riverside Dr: On Riverside & at Stratford - brush is overgrown out to street pavement edge and needs to be cut back to improve view of oncoming traffic - safety concern at this intersection -
8061 Riverside Drive Richmond, VA - Stratford Hills
At the corner of Stratford Rd. and Riverside Dr., there are shrubs growing alongside the road on Riverside drive. These shrubs are so close to Riverside's asphalt and so tall, that they block the view of drivers. When a driver is on northbound Stratford at the stop sign, the view of oncoming vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic is blocked. This creates a safety hazard for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. The previous owner used to keep the shrubs trimmed to a level (maybe 2 feet high) which allowed drivers at the stop sign to be able to see over the shrubs. I have reported this to the city several times over the past 2 years and NOTHING has changed other than they have grown even taller.
7801 Riverside Drive Richmond, VA 23225, USA - Stratford Hills
Just past the driveway of 7801 Riverside Drive (when driving east toward the city on Riverside), there is a deep and wide pothole just before a curve. This morning I was almost hit head on when a driver traveling east moved out of his lane to avoid the pothole and almost hit me as I was traveling west on Riverside.
In addition to the pothole, the right hand shoulder of Riverside in that same area is completely eroded away so that there is a one to two foot drop at the edge of the pavement.
There was an accident at this point about a week ago. It appeared a driver either swerved to miss the pothole as he entered the curve, or his tires slipped off the road and into the deep shoulder and he over corrected. Result was he broke through the fence between the road and the river and fortunately he hit two trees instead of going into the river. From the looks of the car, I imagine that anyone in the front seat was seriously injured or killed.
Please make this pot hole and shoulder a top safety priority. This road is used by cars AND runners, walkers with baby strollers, bikers, etc. That section is a hazard to all.

PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD
The hedge on Riverside Drive at Stratford Road has been reported to the city several times. The hedge is too tall and blocks the view of drivers at the stop sign on Stratford who want to turn onto Riverside. It is impossible to see over or around the hedge to know if there is oncoming traffic from vehicles, cyclists, joggers, or pedestrians. The former owner o the home on the corner used to keep them trimmed low. New owner is negecting them, creating a public safety hazard.

The hedge along Riverside drive is too tall. It is a public safety hazard. It blocks the view of oncoming westbound vehicle and foot traffic for drivers at the stop sign on Stratford.
The previous owner used to keep them trimmed to a reasonable height. Current owner is oblivious or uncaring.
