Capital Beltway & Georgia Ave Silver Spring, MD 20910, USA - Silver Spring
Almost everyday I see one of the same two or three panhandlers hanging out on the ramp from the Inner-loop onto Georgia Ave South. They wander into traffic, and leave trash in the median. This is not a safe or appropriate place for pedestrians, let along people who wander into traffic.
Besides which, with the dedication these people have devoted to getting up and hanging out at this same corner they could definitely hold down a job. Or at least share one, as a team. Now, I can't tell if it's a real medical problem or some good acting, but one lady has a pronounced difficulty walking. That said, they are clearly capable of doing some small but meaningful work for their money. Instead the guilty rich are giving them a subsistence income on the cloverleaf of life.
Please don't pay these people. You are encouraging a traffic hazard, and they really need to get the kind of help that will get them off the streets, Not the kind that will keep them there.

On the side of the road next to Woodside Park, there is broken glass (possibly safety glass from a windshield) It has been there for a few days. It is on the speed bump and hard to see at night until you're nearly on top of it.
Norcross Way & 12700 New Hampshire Venue Silver Spring, MD - Silver Spring
It is almost three weeks & nothing has been done nor ave I seen any correspondence on this matter.
To update, the bus stop is in the 12700 block of New Hampshire on the west side in front of the church property. I have included a picture taken today.
The trash can provided by Metro at the bus stop near here has been missing for months. Riders leave their trash scattered on the ground.
1st Ave Silver Spring, MD - Silver Spring
A bunch of garbage at this public trash can has been pulled and dumped out of the can and dumped on the ground surrounding the unit. It was possibly done by either an animal or a homeless person overnight (it is currently Sunday morning). I'm not sure anyone in the neighborhood wants to wait until trash day on Thursday to see it cleaned up.
