Garbage on RT 110 and my lawn. Open

4 Beardsley Rd Shelton, CT 06484, USA - Shelton

I forgot to mention in my last post that the trash being thrown on lawns and in the street is increasing. Every Thursday I pick up trash off the lawn and beer bottles in the road. The final straw was when I found a hypodermic needle in my driveway. People are slobs and I have had it. Can we put up more signs? Can we ticket more aggressively?? There may not be solution but I have to mention this issue. Other areas are a mess and I bet other people will agree with me.

In addition, the trash on 110 has yet to be picked up this year. I know this because I do it twice a year and I fill 2 contractor bags and give up. Can anything be done?

  Rt. 110 is a state road. Local municipalities cannot send volunteers out to pick up without state permission. The state has been notified of these conditions and they do schedule pick-up crews but they cannot keep up with the trash throwers. Isn't is amazing that with all the cans, paper and other trash being thrown from vehicles, no one ever sees it being done? The police have absolutely no reports of trash being thrown from vehicles. Maybe we need to organize an anti-litter watch squad!

  Yes, 110 is a state road and is a total mess. I understand it falls under the responsibility if the state to keep it clean. The issue here is 2 fold, the trash ends up all over the lawns of people who bank abutt this property.
  In addition, at least twice a week the slobs throw trash all over my lawn on Beardsley road. Cans, glass, fast food wrappers. I am just sick of picking this crap up and can not believe people are so disgusting. Can we do something as a group? Maybe. There probably is no solution but, I feel better to vent.

RT - 8 from EXIT14 - EXIT08 Road Dug Up/Not Paved Archived

Route 8 Derby, CT - Shelton

When is RT8 from the Commodore Hull Bridge EXIT14 - EXIT08 - Stratford/Trumbull 108 going to get paved? It's been dug up and unpaved for >2 weeks. As you drive behind vehicles and especially trucks... stones and other debris is getting thrown up at my vehicle and others --- which can/will cause damage. What is going on -- did the project just stop?!

  Similar to the project on lower Derby Ave in Seymour. When it causes an accident and a lawsuit comes up, it'll be fixed with 48 hours.
