Monday July 30th around 1 am , one happy couple drank bears and argued loudly inside Island House
courtyard, waking me and possible other neighbors with bedroom windows facing the courtyard.
I called Public Safety asking them to remove the noisy individuals from the courtyard.
The answer was "somebody will come now"
15 minutes later nobody came (IH courtyard is just across the street from the PS office) so
I called again, because the couple continued making loud noise.
This time the officer told me that they looked on the camera (??) and they did not see anybody,
therefore they did not come as promised. When I asked which camera, he acted like he did not
understand it was the Island House COURTYARD. So he promised again that somebody will come to
remove the noisy individuals form the premises.
5 minutes later , a shiny PS vehicle showed up from the west side and slowly moved along the
Island House PLAYGROUND (which was empty), and then left.
The COURTYARD is about 10-12 feet higher than the playground so it is obviously that the officer
behind the wheel could not see anything inside the playground, and probably did not hear anything
from AC comfortable cabin. Right when I was going to call the third time the happy couple finished
their beers and arguments and left.
In summary I would expect a more quick and efficient reaction in instances like this,
from Public Safety considering they are paid by our tax dollars.
Also, maybe it will not be a bad idea to put a webcam inside the Island House courtyard and
monitor this place during the night hours, since this place is a frequent magnet for people who
like to hang around in the middle of the night, disturbing residents who try to sleep.
