There is a sidewalk along beacon street at the southern tip of the chestnut hill reservoir that is not cleared. In the past few years I do not recall it ever being cleared of snow and ice during the winter months. Not sure who the property owner is, but it would be nice to remind them to shovel their walks.

The right lane inbound to Central Square is littered with potholes and patches that cause a symphony of screaming suspensions from tracker-trailers, dump trucks, and flat beds. Pedestrians, bikers, and residents in this area have to brace themselves while speeding traffic shutters by.

Calling Public Works and getting a "work order" multiple times apparently does nothing. Does anyone else hear me on this one?

With a tight roadway and high sharp media curbs this road way will do definately cause alignment damage and dangerous travel. Bad weather is that much worse.
A storm drain in front of the driveway of 31 Rockland Place is in danger of collapsing and creating a huge sinkhole in the street. A large hole approximately 6 feet DEEP and 2 feet wide has developed directly next to the storm drain. A small child could fall into this hole and become trapped and/or drown. This issue needs to be addressed immediately. Newton DPW has placed a barricade over the hole and the storm drain, but repairs must be made as soon as the weather allows.

Christina street sees a lot of traffic for its size because people use it as an alternative to Needham Street.

It's extremely dangerous for pedestrians to walk even in the summer because no sidewalks exist where the street curves near where Roland and Bernard St meet Christina St. The sidewalks that do exist, farther closer to Needham Street, force pedestrians to cross the street multiple times in areas of low visibility to try to stay on the shoulders of the road. This street is used as a walkway for many pedestrians, including many children. Please build some sidewalks!

Going westbound at this intersection of N. Arsenal Street, the traffic light has four signals, the 4th being a green arrow (to turn left onto Soldiers Field Road). The green arrow light has been out for months (possibly a year!). It's very dangerous taking a left turn here because the oncoming traffic on N. Arsenal has a delayed light while you are allowed to make a turn (the green arrow should be lit for a few seconds before their light turns green on the other side of the road.)

fix the bridge!! Taking it forever!! It is scandalous. It is a super pot holish situation with half of four lanes closed off, creating traffic bottleneck situation that I have not seen for last few decades. Anybody with any sense of priority would havve this issue fixed before the pols lose their credibility, just as they did during recent election. There are 4-5 traffic cops in the vicinity trying to do an impossible job. Perhaps they like it that way, since situation creates demand for their services.

The green signal for traffic on Medford St at Washington (what many people would think of as the Washington St exit off Rte 28/Msgr McGrath Hwy) is insanely short. I timed it last night: roughly 12 seconds? Meanwhile traffic coming from the Innerbelt area of Washington gets what seems like a minute+.

As one can imagine traffic gets really backed up here, particularly when they close the McGrath overpass to do roadwork.

DPW should change the timing on the lights.

Binney and Fulkerson seems to be
operating on a simple timer cycle,
with no sensing of whether anyone
is waiting for the red. So, drivers
traveling west on Binney with a green
light often see the light turn red even when no one is waiting on Fulkerson etc. Please add pavement sensors!

Summit Ave from Webster Ave up to the Soldiers Home is falling apart. Lots of holes and dips in the roadway. Weather seems to be making it worse.

Have seen veterans in wheelchairs going down this hill to shopping plaza. It's getting very dangerous for them. Please do whatever possible to fix it as soon as possible.

Driving east on Comm Ave just past the Charlesgate overpass there are a series of potholes that don't seem to have been fixed ever. They have gotten progressively worse in the last month and I'm afraid one of these days it will pop a tire or I'm going to run into another car while trying to avoid the mess.

There is a tremendous amount on non-resident, commercial traffic (including semi-rigs!) at all hours on this street. It seems that the toll changes in Newton have turned this road into a cut-through. The volume of traffic is bad enough, not to mention the speed at which these vehicles travel through a residential area.
Is there a way to put a commercial vehicle restriction, reduce the speed limit, add speed bumps, etc?

Drivers are continually swerving into the wrong lanes at this intersection because the lane markings are unclear.

Left lane: Some seem to believe this is a left-turn only lane.

Middle lane: Some do not bump right when cross Memorial Drive and instead veer into the left lane, possibly because of the "left lane" comment above. Other times, people turn left from the middle lane, cutting off people in the left lane who are continuing straight.

Right lane: Designated as a right turn only lane, but this is not clear as many drivers continue straight when in this lane.

There are no signs to help drivers understand which lanes have which rules, nor are there any signs indicating that the road they are approaching is Memorial Drive. This is a junction that many out-of-towners first approach when coming off the Mass Pike and it must be incredibly confusing for them.

The lane markings can be improved and start further back, perhaps toward the middle of the bridge.

Some signs need to be added, again perhaps need the middle or even beginning of the bridge, which will be helpful during times of busy traffic.

A new traffic pattern was instituted here recently. On River St at Mass Ave, the right-hand lane is now a right turn only lane. There is a lane marking, but I don't believe there are any signs. Regardless, many drivers enter the right lane and then proceed straight through the intersection. It's not clear that there is a right turn only lane here and the signage needs improvement.

The sidewalk that stretches in front of St. Paul's cemetary, which is more than 2 city blocks long, is never shoveled of snow. It creates very hazardous conditions for those of us who use it every day. This responsibility to shovel the sidewalk belongs to the archidiocese, but Arlington DPW needs to take action!!

Nearly every weekday morning there are far too many cars either parked, double parked or positioned in some other fashion as to impede traffic and create a ridiculously frustrating, and dangerous, driving situation at the intersection of Westminster Ave., and Park Ave Ext. It seems the majority of the problem stems from parents dropping their children off to attend school at the Covenant Church on the corner. Not only is this incredibly unsafe but the complete disregard for surrounding traffic and neighbors who are trying to simply back out of their driveway or get down their street is jaw dropping. This needs to be addressed as a matter of public safety as it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. A strict parking ban between 7 and 9 AM should be in effect on the Covenant Church's side of the road every weekday in order to correct this. Thoughts?
