This is very dangerous with the heavy volumes of traffic that you have to manuver to do this. Also, children having to cross Rt. 9 is like crossing a highway, even with crossing guard it is still not safe. I saw someone run a red light just as the crossing guard was about to step off the median. This is the main route into the town center for many students. Speeding creates noise and hazards to pedestrians. Ideally, stretches of pedestrian rich areas like this should have speeds limited to 20MPH through traffic calming and other measures.
