Description

The volume level from the concert held Friday, May 5, 2001 at the Verizon Amphitheatre once again was so loud as to be intrusive at my home 4 miles from the show. I have previously complained about this on several occasions and Mr. Drinkard replied to me on 080309 that this was in part due to "atmospheric conditions in place that caused the sound to reflect off of the low cloud cover and travel considerably farther than would typically be the case" and that "this is not something that is within the control of the amphitheater or the city". For the record, there was no cloud cover this evening and I could here the concert very clearly inside my house with the windows and doors closed. I would appreciate if you could address this situation as soon as possible. If there is no resolution forthcoming, then I will contact the Atlanta Journal Constitution to do a follow up story on the one they wrote several months ago about the number of complaints these shows are generating and why this issue has not been resolved.
