Description
A sinkhole has been developing in the center of the road for awhile. The pavement isn't broken yet, but it is only a matter of time before it is. It is pretty deep and getting deeper and wider. Somebody is going to damage their vehicle if they haven't already. If the road were wider, it might be less of a problem (for now), since people wouldn't have to drive near the middle, but it is not. Even though residents know to expect and maneuver around it, visitors might not. I know at least one resident who has forgotten about it a time or two. With the brush pile that often appears on the West side of the road there, said maneuvering usually takes the form of straddling the hole, driving down the middle of the road when driving toward Greymont.
I placed the marker as precisely as I could from memory, but it is definitely on Woodmere near the intersection with Robert Burns.
