Sadly, we are at the mercy of the state on this. See http://seeclickfix.com/issues/928794
The timing is "better" however, the issue is not resolved. Why can't the city own control of this intersection? The city is very responsive to our needs, because they are our closest governmental body. But their hands are tied because the state maintains this intersection. Meanwhile to the state we are one of thousands of issues across the 100 counties, so it drags its feet.
Someone is going to die at this intersection, and there is going to be an uproar mostly because this is clearly an outstanding issue the state is incapable and unwilling to resolve. Due to multiple public complaints, there is a huge liability settlement looming. All because morons in some bureaucracy machine can't coordinate their left hand with their right. Meanwhile, the taxpayers suffer.
This is crazy. Government gone bad. Someone with a brain and the power to fix this needs to step in. It is NOT THAT HARD to change the signals at an intersection. The issue is people and the taxpayers in the neighborhood are @#$% off this can't get resolved for YEARS.
Please wake up. This is a huge safety and traffic issue. That is one of our government's primary job, damnit.
