Church often has people parking haphazardly on Taft, Homestead, and even Edenburg. It creates a hazardous situation for pedestrians and drivers alike. ( Note the issue of noise generated by the church's moog synthesizer has been posted for about 10 months now.)

This will be monitored by traffic safety personnel. Unsafe conditions will be addressed.

Continued unsafe parking during 4 pm church services. Cars parked on both sides of the street near parking lot makes it very difficult for cars to pass - anything larger than a standard car (i.e. ambulance or fire truck) would not be able to pass.

I spoke with the Rev Thomas Lawless, Rector of All Saints, about the parking issue. He is going to make an announcement and put a notice in the parish bulletin about the parking issues.

I appreciate that you've spoken with them, but they have known about this problem to years and still park all over the street. APD has ticketed residents parked on the street when it's empty but just because someone is at church they have free reign to park illegally and in a way that's unsafe for residents, walkers, and drivers? There is no way a fire truck or ambulance would be able to make it down the street when church goers are making the road impassable.

This issue was coordinated with Traffic Engineering. Taft Ave will become a one-way street with parking on one side of the street. This should alleviate parking conjestion. Please contact Albany PD if parking problems persist at 518-438-4000. Albany PD will respond and ticket violators.
