Description
There is high activity of foot and vehicle traffic at 1921, 1923 48th avenue. There are two properties on this lot. The front home is a grey two story building and the main resident/tenant is a young African American male, early 20's. He has high activity of foot/vehicle traffic coming in and out of his location. Rather than go inside of private property, he and his guests park in the middle of street, blocking traffic and loiter inside the car(s). They then throw trash outside of their windows into the street. When they actually park their cars in front of other neighbor's homes, they throw trash onto the sidewalks. Now the trash is causing blight and degradation along the entire neighborhood. Please send notice to the address regarding illegal dumping/littering and the associated penalties.

I believe this location now falls in City Council District 6.
Desley Brooks (510) 238-7006 Email: dbrooks@oaklandnet.com Landlord should get a call from her office.
Ask OPD (non-emergency No. 777-3333) who the Captain is for this area and get his contact info.
In any case, the neighborhood needs to stay on this. Good luck...

I forgot to add that it looks like your Neighborhood Services Coordinator is:
Araina Richards, arichards@oaklandnet.com
NSCs can be very useful in helping navigate the city's services and getting things done in your neighborhood. Your neighborhood group called (Melrose-High Hopes) meets the third Thursday of the month at 7pm at Horace Mann School at 5222 Ygnacio Ave. It's a good place to discuss neighborhood issues and work on solving them.
