Description

There is a homeless camp developing under the I-40 bridge. Unsanitary and unsightly for a main thoroughfare for Raleigh.

This isn't new but I agree....it's unsanitary & disgusting for an area so highly used.

The Raleigh Police Department has responded. We have been working on this issue. The property is owned by the state. We cannot trespass someone from property we (City) does not own. We just received permission / authority from NCDOT to trespass at that location. This is what we have been waiting on. We will follow our protocol for dealing with the homeless subjects there. We have not been able to identify or locate the specific individual(s) who are staying / loitering there. Thanks.
