"my 2 Cents" - Quit complaining !!!!
The Bingo Hall is an eye-sore and their clients pitch their garbage as they walk to their cars after anther night of BINGO. Take a walk around the bingo hall, you will find garbage everywhere. XX-large Pepsi cups seem to be the drink of choice, Cement chuncks with rebar also litter the area, which also come from the Bingo halls parking lot. Yes, Southwood is a nice area of hard-working families, and I want to keep it that way.

Why can't this "buisness" clean up its own garbage?

Building a fence, cuts their profit and is WORK.
Educate the clients? How do you educate pork? I am not saying all bingo players, but the ones that need educating are.
Lets face it . If the owners/managers were responsible citizens they would do as you suggest, but..............

I believe that 'eyesores' like the garbage around the Bingo Halls are the responsibility of the business, according to current city by-laws. They fine homeowners that don't have decent looking yards, so why not businesses?
If you're that concerned about the problem, might I suggest harrassing both City Hall and the Bingo Hall until the problem is solved?

Looks like there are a few people that agree with me, thank you ALL for your comments and suggestions. Most businesses are socially responsible and take steps to keep their business and surrounding area clean, but the BINGO HALL does not seem to care about the neighborhood it belongs to. If the MANAGER and the PATRONS would just take some civic responsibility and clean up after themselvesthis would not be an issue. The Casino is a few blocks away and is spotless, maybe the Casino managment should run the Bingo HAll?
Who is the manager?
Who ownes this buisness?

It is good to hear that many people take enough pride in their community to pick up garbage around their neighbourhood. However, this approach is not working very well. If someone asked me to handle the problem, the first thing I would do is find out where the garbage is coming from.
Certainly, there is a lot of garbage (falling) out of vehicles when they are near the fast food restaurants, and hotels. There are are many other sources for small amounts of trash as well. In my opinion, I would guess that the greatest volume of trash comes from the commercial dumpsters either when they overflow due to poor scheduling, or when they are dumped during a moderate breeze.
It's easy to blame the people who toss their fast food wrappers out of the car window, but I think the problem is more of a disposal issue on a much larger scale. If the City Hall was really serious about solving this problem, then they will have already quanified how much garbage comes from each source, and the best way to clean it up. If they haven't done this, then I would be happy to do it for them in the form of photographs, video, and statistics.

Maybe some of the people who receive funding from the bingo could come over and pitch in.
