Description
This traffic light should be reprogrammed to flash after 10:00 PM. There's really not that much traffic here at night anyway.
Many other intersections in Cohoes now have blinking lights at night and they work fine. Plus this is only a 3-way intersection, which makes it even easier.

@Z. Fechten: This is incorrect. The number of accidents in Cohoes has remained proportionally the same after the flashing yellow lights were allowed at night. This was done approximately 2 years ago and has worked fine. It was determined that the amount of traffic within the city limits was low enough to allow flashing yellow lights at night.
The corner of Vliet St. and Upper Mohawk St. has low enough traffic at night whereby a flashing yellow light on the Upper Mohawk St. portion is a safe alternative to the traditional red/yellow/green configuration which makes traffic wait unnecessarily.
