Description

Many eastbound drivers on 11th street making a right turn onto Lake Merritt Blvd are ignoring the red light arrow at this intersection. I use the crosswalk across 11th St at this intersection multiple times a day and almost everytime I cross a car or bus (AC Transit) will make an illegal right turn against the red arrow while I am in the crosswalk. Today a car went through the crosswalk (about 1 foot from me) without even stopping at probably 10 - 20 mph above the speed limit. This intersection needs signs that clearly remind turning drivers to obey the red arrow as well as either red light cameras or frequent enforcement by Oakland PD.
