As far as i know the only ones who can get away with this law is if they are in the military,or college students!

this is a never ending cycle which will never get fixed due to cities not needing to worry about out of state vehicles as lomg as they come back valid & insured.
Cry about it all you want, its not up to the CT DMV to issue summons for their tags back...

the law is the law, and people are breaking it. additionally, the town of bristol is losing income because some people feel they are above the law, and keep their vehicles licensed in other states.
i don't give a s**t what the rates are, or that they are higher than other states.
i choose to live here, i can afford to live here, and i pay my fair share of taxes.
as far as any of you who feel the taxes are unfair, please do us other law-abiding citizens a favor and move to the state where your vehicle is registered.
we will not miss you.

I currently have one of my vehicles registered out of state (Maine). I would love to have it registered here in CT but those wonderful people at DMV can't seem to make up their collective minds about letting me register it here. It's a composite vehicle and even though the inspection process and regulations are spelled out very clearly, the fine folks in Wethersfield can't seem to be able to read them.
I really don't care where people have their vehicles registered. I care about if they have them insured so that when they hit me, I won't need to call my agent.
So far as property taxes are concerned, it doesn't matter about the mill rate or anything else. The towns will just continue to raise taxes. Taxes are like crack, towns and cities just want more and more.
