The city’s Public Works Department performs regular maintenance on Southern Boulevard such as pot hole repair, crack sealing, etc.
Due to the age and condition of Southern Boulevard, the city would like to perform mill and inlay work and/or total reconstruction work. However, due to the size and the cost of this type of work/project (in the tens of millions of dollars), future work is subject to available funding.

This street needs badly to be repaved. It is after all one of the main streets in the city.

I personally find that as a bad excuse from the city admin. The city just wasted $90,000 on a special election. The city also just paved 1 mile of road at the Cleveland High School. That money would have been better spent on Southern Blvd. Southern Blvd is used by many more citizens than the new road at Cleveland High School. Maybe some one that does the planning for the City needs to be replaced.

What the city is saying is bull. They paved Broadmoor, 12 months later they repaved it. The they repaved the side streets off broadmoor. I call that a waste of tax payers money. High Resort is crying out for repaving as well as southern. Come on city, scrap the planning officer and get a new one, otherwise you'll have a riot on your hands.

Well sence they didnt pass the road bonds it probably wont get done anytime soon.....

And I don't believe that any road bond should be passed. For one they should spell out in advance exactly what that bond will be used for. And even more importantly it shouldn't be put on the backs of home owner. It should be a true bond which is sold or a tax that every one pays. Unless these conditions are met I will vote against any road bond and also work against any road bond.
