Hahaha! It's near the "no parking" sign. People park there anyway to use the Buttermilk Trail and I would hate for anyone to step out of their car into this hole. It's close to the property line, but you'd have to do a survey to determine the line. Look about 30 yards in from the intersection of Riverside and Westover Hills Boulevard on the north side of the street by a tree. If you get out of the car, you can't miss it. Especially if you get out on the passenger side (don't fall in)!
2/26/2014 - Thanks so very much for your follow through Shawbelt that provides more details about the possible cave-in. Our DPU Team did an inspection at 5003 Riverside and knocked on the property owners door to look around the property and around the perimeter of the property and there was no hole there. I have resubmitted this back to DPU Mgmt for the proximity around the No Parking Signage

I'm just glad to have this app to make communication with the city easier. I'm sure it's been tough to get such a huge influx of requests since the app was launched...they do an awesome job responding to all my reports--I'm impressed with them!
I'm sure they get a lot of bogus reports too. They simply asked me to reopen with more information about the location. I believe they expected me to respond and are trying to help. When I submitted a report about the excessive speed on Riverside drive they had a speed check in place within two weeks to determine whether to put speed humps on the road or not. That's an excellent response in my opinion. I agree that they should have seen the sinkhole if they got out of the car and looked for it but I think it's okay that they asked me for a more specific location. I'm sure there are a lot of user errors when it comes to mapping.
The Department of Public Utilities crews investigated this location and couldn't find any sinkholes in the vicinity. They also spoke with the homeowner of 5003 and they were not aware of the request. We appreciate your communication that helps us in “Building The Best Richmond” together

Whoa whoa whoa! You closed this because you couldn't find it?!
Go back to the property and LOOK! It obviously exists. Not a reason for you to close it. Numnuts!

I found it with ease... But I am NOT a CITY PAID EMPLOYEE....
Should I go back and mark it for the City with a couch or a mattress?
