It is a real problem! I am presently completely incapacitated by severe muscle spasms in my back after re-clearing my driveway apron for the 3rd time after one storm. I have no where to put additional snow, once the state plows all the snow & ice back into the drive it is way too dense, wet, and heavy for my small snow blower to handle, so I must hand shovel. The amount of weight with each shovel is ridiculous, not to mention the height necessary to lift it to existing piles. I am not averse to clearing my walks and drive, and typically clear from the empty house all the way to the corner of Woodward & Townsend with my blower (after the city park workers leave piles as they leave the sidewalk in front of the park to the street) so that we and others can walk our dogs. I cannot imagine why the state plows can't #1 go slower, and #2 swerve away from already cleared drives.
We are closing snow issues and directing our attention to "street sweeping". We will review all snow issues in order to improve next year's snow removal planning and response. Thanks for your feedback and patience. To read about "street sweeping" please follow this link:
