Lets see...a high school close by.... teenage driviers....and you don't expect speeding issues on adjacent roads???
The additional daily traffic caused by the location of Bayard Rustin and the impact on the neighborhoods is a major problem. If we would allow avg. class sizes to grow to 50 or 60 students, perhaps we wouldn't need as many high schools to be built in first place. But some teacher will respond that the kids don't get a good education with larger class sizes and to that I say... Bullcrap!
I expect some but not an average of 30 cars every two minutes and 75% of those cars are well over the speed limit. WEGO just needs to enforce the limit. I hate to say it but nothing will be done until someone gets injured.
Most all cars I clock are going 40-50 by the time they hit my house at 908 from little shiloh And they are definitly NOT high school kids!!!
also the parents and teachers are driving too - but Shiloh has always been a cut thru and a van of West town kids has already had a serious accident here. Curious all the speed bumps and stop signs on south concord and not here- any politicans living on south concord huh?
I agree with Mills. How is it that S. Concord has speed bumps and numerous stop signs???? That road was a cut through to route 1. Shiloh needs something to deter motorists. Shiloh Speedway has two stops, Little Shiloh and Rt. 926. God forbid a high school student gets hit crossing Shiloh by one of these people. Then what????
Mills and T
The local politicians want to remove the speed bumps and stop signs on S. Concord which would be a mistake. And if you think that the new school hasn't caused numerous traffic issues in the area, you must be living in a dream world. Nothin will happen until someone gets hurt and then there is a lawsuit.
Thats was my point, it will only be addressed AFTER someone gets hurt, unfortuantely. You are dealing with Politicians, PennDOT and or the local police. The Police are understaffed as is so I do not blame them at all. But we do have toooooo many bureaucrats and politicians, that is a fact. Perhaps everyone should simply take on the responsibility to not speed instead of looking to Goverment for the solution!!
Wish it were that easy. The people that speed on Shiloh most likely speed elsewhere. Bet they would be pretty @#$% if we went speeding down their road. Not many people take responsibility for their actions. It's always someone elses fault. Maybe if the speed limit was 5 they would only go 30mph.
I agree with Sam. Stop looking to the government to solve all of your problems you cowards. Go build a speed hump in the middle of the road when no one is looking, or get some spikes or even put a damn stop sign in yourself. HA
