True, in theory. But not so passable when cars backing out of driveways get stuck lengthwise between piles of snow.

Did I hear the bullhorns come through lower Lyon last night? (They didn't bother with the top half.) And no follow through?
The top half failed the firetruck-pass-trough-test, and yet. No one has plowed. The parking situation is deplorable, but sacrificing public safety...how is this even legal?
This is barely an "under preparedness" issue, which I was told. Gross negligence.

Yes. The bullhorns came through lower Lyon last night, blasting something barely comprehensible about garbage pickup and parking ban. People dutifully moved their cars (often at great inconvenience to themselves, given the awful condition of sidewalks in this neighborhood). Garbage pickup happened; plowing did not.

Well I have fallen for a 2nd time because of the ice at a crosswalk. Tonight it was Submerged in 3" of wate. Fortunately no cars were coming. To whom shall i send my medical bills and/or lawsuit?
BTW: a payloader drove down upper Lyon St tonight but I guess they were just lost.

Oh j, I am so sorry to hear that. Not surprised at all, though. How many people will be injured, I wonder, before the city decides to take some responsibility for public safety? My car has been damaged by having to scrape against the piles of snow next to my driveway, but at least the pieces can be reattached. I fear that some pedestrian trying to cross one of these streets will not be so lucky.

After exchanging emails with Doug H. early this morning he drove to our neighborhood followed by 2 plows. They cleared the odd side of ALL of Lyon St, onto Bradley and I believe William. They did make more than 1 pass which was very helpful. It's not perfect but much improved. Driveway exits are a challenge of course. If anyone is interested in a shoveling party for the even sides, especially on Bradley, I will be out on Saturday. We could clear 6-8 more spaces on both Lyon and Bradley with a team effort. Yes, the City should do this but even side clearing is not part of the plan and we do need more spaces.

THANK YOU, j, Doug H., and the crews who plowed our street! A kind, kind driver cleared the base of my driveway this morning, too, just as I was embarking on what would have been a long and tiresome clearing out process. It is so nice to have a functioning street again!!
