This house is actually 819 Brockhurst.
The very same 819 Brockhurst that has caused so much grief to the neighbors. Since the family was foreclosed on (4-5 years ago!) the house was taken over by a bogus trust, turned into a drug house, and was a horrid situation for the immediate neighbors and the neighbors on the street. Finally, it is now abandoned (broken into- damaged and vandalized weekly)
The bank has tried to sell it but since all the copper has been stolen and there is so much damage now to this old house, no one wants to pay the $200K starting price.
Please do not suggest we call CODE ENFORCEMENT. We call daily. This graffiti is over a month old and is just added to. Neither CODE ENFORCEMENT nor the bank bothered to do anything. We as neighbors need to maintain this house, I suppose.
This house is a symbol of what is wrong with our weak leadership here in Oakland. The touchy feely stuff will not solve the problem of blight or stand up to the Banks.
We will not get new neighbors, families and people wanting to restore these wonderful old homes with out strong leaders. The banks are greedy, and do not care at all about our neighborhoods. We have far too many abandoned, burned out and foreclosed houses that could be homes to first time buyers, and families.
