Description

handicap entrance is locked (key pad) to gain entry to the grocery store. I had to go inside and locate the managet...Richard who had the key in his pocket to come outside to unlock the gate for my amputated mother sitting in a wheelchair in the parking lot...looking depressed because of lack of open handicap and disability access. Manager said he keeps it locked all day and a customer had to come to him if handicapped to enter through the locked gate. There were three Metro Access parked there with seniors in motorized equipment that were not able to enter unless someone went inside to find the manager. This is also a fire hazard because he locks it back up after he opens it for the handicap. He was so unemotional and no answer as to why except to say, that's what they told me to do," and walked away. No I did not take my mother inside because I did not like his attitude and his reason. Seven months ago Big Lots next door opened with the same issue..I had to get the manager to unlock the handicap gate. I believe they are doing this so no one can walk away with their carts. This is totally in violation for the disabled and fire.
