He look it's me in the picture :) I look sexy! For all you non educated people, ALS ambulances require certain equipment to be plugged into outlets to be charged at all times. Me pulling up to save your grandmother who just suffered a heart attack and saying "oops sorry the monitor isn't charged, I can't help her" is surely going to be more beneficial for the planet then me idling. If it's a cold day, you want your already hypothermic grandmother who almost froze to death to be put into a cold ambulance? Or on a hot day into a scorching hot ambulance? Stop complaining you tree huggers. Airplanes and construction equipment polute your precious air like you can't imagine.

P.S. Most van ambulances are 9400lb, under 5 tons. No idling is for vehicles of 5 tons or more.

You are actually mistaken about the idling laws. For Philadelphia it is illegal for any vehicle to idle for more than 3 minutes. Ambulances are not exempt from this. Additionally, any vehicle over 8,500 lbs may not idle for more than 2 minutes, or 0 (zero) minutes if it is a layover.
Further, there is a law in PA that makes it illegal to leave a vehicle unattended and idling, which you clearly are in the picture above.

It's amazing that people have the time to take pics of people without their permission...
UMR is an ALS unit like Philadelphia fire rescue and unlike them we don't have a base to sit and charge the machines if they're on the road waiting for the next run that comes from Nursing homes,hospitals,private homes... It would suck to arrive in a cold and not prepared vehicle.... And if you want to take pics of the trucks do so but leave the people out of them unless you have their permission to take....
the crews I see are parked in the spots so far away no one ever used them spots...I myself park near the pathmart next to the bus rest because they be running also so.. take our pics...
Take my pic without my permission but leave your address so I can come take pics of you..you might like it..

If you are in public it is legal to take your picture and/or video.
It is illegal to idle for more than 0 (zero) minutes in Philadelphia if you are on a layover, which you appear to be in the picture. Please consult Air Management Services Regulation IX for more information.

Take the pics just take pics of the trucks is all I'm saying.. don't use the faces of people you don't know and put on a web site because you don't like the trucks idling over 0 minutes in Philadelphia...
you could call the busy Philadelphia police department and bother them or go over and tell the crews how you feel and give them the information you want them to have they won't hurt you their paramedics they're not into violence....
but to sit and take pics and post it is childish.... If you ever see me idling walk over to me and remind me that simple.. taking complete strangers pics and putting them on a site is weird and you know it..
how about maybe not everyone sees your post and don't know the air regulations etc etc go inform them....
I hope you take pics of every incident that breaks laws and not just the one you have a problem with...go to city ave watch all the cars turn on a red or use the straight lane then make a turn illegally.. I haven't seen them pics up on here and it's right down the block near news building... Remember share your knowledge with the crews you might inform them of something they don't know....... Or just continue to hide in your car taking pics then they will never know what you want them to know..

you realize that emergency vehicles are exempt from idling laws right....? These ambulances are authorized and registered as emergency vehicle with PENDOT.
