The City of Oakland Public Works Agency has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 502585. Please check back for status updates or contact us directly at (510) 615-5566.
Trash is disgusting. Discarded needles are downright dangerous. Seems to me that this may be a matter for the County Health Department to investigate. Especially since it's not just one needle but several.
Thank you for contacting the Public Works Agency regarding this matter. However, additional information is needed before your request can be processed. Please provide an exact address for the location of the needless. You can also submit a picture of the needles that shows a little more of the area (buildings) around them. Hazardous waste is handled by the Fire Department and we need to be able to give them the closest address to the location of the items they need to pick up. In the case of needles, since they are small, without an exact location the Fire Department may not be able to find them. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
