Description

The lights on Chestnut and Walnut used to be timed so that, if one travelled at the speed limit, you would get nothing but green lights from 69th street to City Hall at 15th Street. It eliminated traffic jams and allowed people to make a 54 block trip in about 10 minutes.

At least on Sunday mornings for the last few years, the lights have been out of sync. You have to stop for a red light every third block. This creates gridlock and unnecessary traffic. It also consumes much more gas than would be necessary if the lights were timed.

The lights on Chestnut and Walnut need to be re-timed at regular intervals to make the trip into the city a much more pleasant experience for everybody.
