So where do you expect them to put the snow? If you don't want to have to dig out park in a garage for the storm. Granite Square is free till 9am tomorrow.

I just received an email from our Alderperson saying that the City does not have resources to ticket & tow.
What about moving the resources to ticketing unpaid parking meters till 9pm downtown to make this a livable city for those who pay taxes?
What about sending City supervisors to check the (poor) work of the contracted plowing companies?
What is the point of following the parking ban if the City is NOT a partner with its residents??????

I agree. If the City enforced the parking ban it would generate a significant amount of money. Have a few traffic officers tag the non-compliant vehicles. The tow trucks would love the money.

What is wrong with this City? It spends time & money notifying residents about the parking ban - then fails to enforce it... Why should the residents bother to comply? NOTHING HAPPENS!

I think that it is reasonable to expect the City not to make the situation worse--if it does not have a plan to help, it should not further disrupt the problem.
One thing is clear: EVERYBODY is unhappy with the work done so far (except for the resident who insists on closing posted issues that remain unsolved...)

The fix is easy. Day one: everyone parks on the even side of the street and the odd side of the street is plowed. Day two: everyone parks on the already plowed odd side of the street and the even side of the street is plowed. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out. No one gets plowed in after digging their car out and their is plenty of parking on both sides for everyone.

Ticket and tow. Put priority on cars with out of state plates.

Agree that the City should only call for a parking ban if it enforces it--with ticket first, ticket and tow soon after.
Also, what is the deal with sidewalks covered with snow and ice?! Those should be ticketed as well.
