(pothole) ENORMOUS is Open 8 People want this fixed
Poorly repaired and 5 new potholes of similar size and depth riddle this alleyway. 3 FOOT X 1 FOOT pothole on Back Street between Hereford and Mass Ave along with huge depressions from the Boston's oversized garbage trucks bearing down and scarring this alley. It is dangerous condition and has taken dozens of tires, rims, bumpers, bikers and small children. Why is the only stretch of Back Street that has not been repaired and repaved??? Please HELP!!!

J - can you confirm that the city is aware you have publicly documented this issue?

No, how does one publicly document a pothole with the city? If the city sends garbage trucks, plows, police cars, fire trucks, inspectors and such up and down our roads and alleys, isn't there a mechanism through which those city workers will alert their fellow public servants in the public works department about the need for the repairs? Isn't this site being monitored by the Mayor's office? Or is this all a case of "it's not my job?" Why didn't this alley and the one on the other side of Mass Ave get repaved along with the rest of Back Bay's alleys? Did we run out of money to finish the job? Who is responsible for seeing that money designated for repairs are being spent judiciously so that all repairs are done on time and within the budget allowed?

An email has been sent to the Mayor's office! That is an amazingly large pothole.

I sent an email to city hall as well to see if we can start getting response from City of Boston just to let citizens know that they are receiving alerts.

Awesome pics. I love the fall colors in that pothole. Have you see the "My Potholes" site in Montreal? They turned enormous Montreal potholes into public art.

While this pothole was partially filled, the same hole is already depressed again and again presents a dangerous condition. What standards are we to expect? Should a filled pothole last more than a few weeks? Shouldn't we be fixing it properly the first time? What about the other potholes littering this alley? Will they be filled too? If so, when. If not, why not? Also, when is this alley way scheduled to be REPAVED like 98% of all other alleys in this neighborhood? It's really a mess. Thank you.
