Description

There is a metal service cover located on the centerline of the road. This cover has a ~ 2x2ft concrete surrounding. On the north side of the concrete surrounding, there is a gap about 4-6" wide and the 2 feet long (the 2 ft is pointing E/W, parallel to the direction of travel). This gap is wide enough to catch a motorcycle tire, possibly catapulting the rider. The gap is about a foot from the center line, so it is possible someone will hit it. To make it worse, it is often in the shade from the tree's, so it is very hard to even see by riders. I only noticed it after my wife and son passed it on their motorcycle, and I shivered thinking if one of them had hit it, how I'd of had to watch them crash, possibly being thrown in front of a car in the other lane coming at them.
