Description

There are two abandoned properties at 920 and 922 N Walnut St that continue to be an issue. For the past month, there has been an old dresser and bags of trash sitting out in front of the houses. Both houses are red tagged/abandoned homes owned by RRL Properties (company is owned by Victor Loomis, the former mayor of East Lansing).

Over the past few years, there has been squatters living in the houses, and now it houses feral cats, racoons, and possums. It is an eyesore and has become a huge issue in the community.

When is the owner of this property going to be contacted and required to fix the issues? We should not allow someone to just let these 2 properties rot away and become eyesores in the city, especially not a former mayor of a neighbor city! He should know better and likely has the financial means and ability to address the issues with these properties, but chooses not to.
