Description

Notices were posted on 3 trees at the intersection of Bradley and Lincoln back in October of last year notifying that the trees had been marked for destruction. As someone that lives nearby I objected to the proposed orders since 2 of the trees are very nice lindens (Tilia americana) that are in very good shape. This past week I got a response from the Deputy Director for the Parks Service and was informed that a public hearing will happen this coming Wednesday at City Hall, 6:30 pm in Meeting Room 1 on the 2nd level. Christy Haas will be the individual overseeing the occasion.

I'm filing this so that other people living in East Rock area or any part of Connecticut can show up to this event and learn how precisely this kind of protocol works for tree removal. To my understanding this isn't related to the UI Deforestation Order but I still see it as unnecessary tree removal since the lindens are bothering no one and damaging nothing. The primary reason for the desire to remove these trees has something to do with nearby construction.

Any public officials willing to show up to the meeting and issue statements keeping the trees where they are would be greatly appreciated.
