All of my girlfriends packages (3) were opened yesterday. Looks like we have a UPS thief in the neighborhood.

This happened to me a few weeks ago in a different part of New Haven so I am sympathetic. UPS shouldn't just leave things where anyone can see them, surely.

We live on Front Street across the river and had a spate of such thefts a couple of months ago. The perpetrator was very likely a short white male with a beard and glasses. He had an oversized black backpack on. He was seen in the direct vicinity on numerous occasions when packages went missing. He lied about working on the street (we checked with the business owner who did not know him). When he finally disappeared (moved on?) deliveries returned to normal. Good luck. Be observant and watch for people staring down driveways and onto porches..

Inform the delivery companies that you do not want them to leave packages without a signature in the future. Also see if you can file a claim with UPS

I received a call 30 minutes after your neighbor witnessed the incident and she described the person as a white male / thin / 6'tall / black hat / black jacket / blue jeans and wearing sneakers with lime green under soles. Within minutes of the call to me I had 4 patrol cars and myself canvassing the Fair Haven heights neighborhood. We stopped a person of suspicion on Lenox street for a field interview but released him based on his answers to us and the fact he wasnt wearing a hat or sneakers. Please, please if you think it looks like a crime it probably is a crime. Call the police as soon as you see it.

This morning, I reported an attmpted break-in at my home on Morris Ave that must have occurred yesterday afternoon. A police officer arrived with in 20 minutes of my call, Thank you very much PD. A suspicious car was seen yesterday at noon time by one of my neighbors. Keep your eyes out for a black nissan with a New Jersey plate and report any suspicious activity immediately.
