Description

When the Washington Federal Bank was being built last year a new fire hydrant was installed into the sidewalk on the south side of the building next to Candelaria. After it was installed it was wrapped in black plastic. That was almost 6 months ago. The bank has since been open about two months now. The hydrant is still wrapped in the black plastic (someone has torn open the top of the plastic, I imagine to see what was inside). I find it hard to believe that AFD has inspected the hydrant because it was wrapped up on the same day it was installed and it had not changed since that day 6 months ago. Why is it still wrapped? is someone trying to hide it? If there was to be a fire there would AFD know if it even works correctly? Just curious.
