3 weeks ago I contacted Charlotte Meck Utilities Dept (CMUD) about a suspected water leak on my street corner (Hateras Ave. & Irma St.) I followed up with CMUD a week later and was informed that CMUD did investigate the leak. They did not know when they would come back to begin repairs on the problem. I have not recieved any feed back from CMUD. The leak is not in anyone's yard. My neighbors and I were wondering if this would effect our over all water bill? Especially sewer and storm water charges? My thoughts are if this leak was happening uptown or in an up scale neighborhood instead of here on the Westside, the response by CMUD would be faster. I also think that it would be less expensive to repair the small leak now rather than wait until it becomes a large sinkhole in the near future. It's been more than 3 weeks and the water continues to flow.
