I have only lived in Ansonia for about a year, but last winter I was stunned at the number of cars left parked on the sides of city streets during snowstorms when Ansonia CLAIMED to have a parking ban so it could clear the roads properly.
No snow plow can clear a road when one side (or both) has cars parked one after the other. It's even more frustrating when you look and see many of these homes have empty unused driveways while residents park on the street. (Why someone would park on a street when their residence has a driveway escapes logic, but...)
What can be done this winter, such as today, to insure residents MOVE THEIR CARS OFF THE ROAD so the city can do it's job? I am sure ONE storm where the city towed away illegally parked cars would be enough to teach a valuable lesson.
In fact, if Ansonia got a cut of the towing fees from just one storm it probably could fund a big chunk of the snow removal costs.. THAT is how many cars are left on road during these so called "bans".

I just saw this and agree 100%. I am lost as to why the parking ban is ignored by BOTH the city and residents.
I don't care who the resident is. You can't pass down these streets safely when parked cars cause plows to not be able to do their job.
