We have a wonderful rec center and many people enjoy it. Quite amazing there is no left turning lane on Danbury Road North so that trough traffic can pass waiting cars unhindered. I mean people that make these decisions live in town right? Unfortunately many drivers don't know they should line up against the median when waiting to make a left turn so that others may squeeze by on the right. This really reduces passing space to just the bare minimum. Certainly not enough for even small trucks.

Someone has noticed that people try to pass on the right hand side because they've 'helpfully' placed steel reflective obstacles in the shoulder. I understand we don't want the grass trampled but how about truly fixing the problem by adding a few feet of asphalt?

I think it would make the intersection safer in general as people waiting to make a left turn will be less likely to make a turn when it's not appropriate as they no longer feel pressure from the cars lining up behind them.
