I am disgusted with the city's response to the snow; it comes across as dithering ineptitude.
I do not want to hear that our city leaders had not counted on this much snow -- it's Connecticut! And we had this much snow last year, too.
Laugh at Atlanta if you will. They screwed up in the first storm but they learned from it did not repeat their mistake. Here we have no excuse.
Every neighborhood street is a mess and has been for weeks.
Nearly every intersection corner that leads to a crosswalk is still a huge pile of filthy snow so that pedestrians are forced to wade up to their knees in slush. And many of the sidewalks in town, like those around our beautiful Wooster Square, are dangerously icy.
Where's the leadership? Who will take responsibility for getting this mess cleaned up?
Nevertheless, the city is icily efficient in collecting many thousands of dollars a year from me in property tax.
New Haven is always on time with the bills.
So is the parking ban lifted? There are countless cars on both sides of St John this afternoon. The road is still kind of narrow, but thanks to warm temps and rain much of the snow and ice are melted.
