Store owners should be out there clearing the sidewalk especially if they own the property & do not rent it. And yes a lot of home owners in the area do not clear their sidewalk or walk way. Especially now around the holidays. If you are waiting for a holiday package do you expect FedEx, UPS or post office to deliver something to you if you haven't clears your walk way?

I have spoken to the store owner about the same problem. I sympathize with her, she is elderly and said her son is 'too busy'. That being said, it is dangerous and neglectful, especially considering the large amount of school (pre-k-8) traffic that occurs in and around the store. The crossing guard even jokes about the discombobulated way pedestrians have to access the cross walk! Should this not be an issue because other people fail to clear their sidewalks? NO! Whether or not 'other people' clear their sidewalks is a problem for another post. And as far as boycotting the store goes, what is there to boycott? There's not much in there as it is. This is an area business, in front of a school crosswalk. The damage to the building itself creates a water runoff on Girard ave. that could be used as a slalom chute. It is simply unsafe. Speaking as someone who has to bring three children between 6months- 6years old I am tired of it.
