Description

Recently the curb cuts around the Logan Circle traffic circle have been replaced with new brick and concrete by city contractors. In some cases the work is so poor that the sidewalk and the curb cuts are no longer level. In this photo you can see that the sidewalk is about six inches higher than the curb cut, which creates a dangerous hazard. There is a sharp drop in the sidewalk. Pedestrians now trip on this sidewalk. Additionally, the purpose of curb cuts is to create smooth transitions from the sidewalk to crosswalks particularly for the disabled. This project missed the point. It was completed poorly and wasted the District's taxpayer dollars. Can the contractor re-do the areas in the neighborhood where they created uneven sidewalks and hazards for pedestrians?
