Don't hold your breath waiting for something to be done! It's been the better part of a year people have been complaining about cars, trucks, School AND SRTA busses AND City of Fall River vehicles ignoring the stop signs at the corner of Locust & Linden streets. It's terrible to say but until someone gets hurt, And someone else raises hell about it nothing gets done! UNLESS you can get a politician to move onto your street,
I'm talking about Valentine Street, not Locust and Linden Streets.
I think that following the rules of the road seems to be a systemic issue with people in Fall River in general. Mostly due to an extremely low and ineffective police to citizen ratio combined with a high crime rate; essentially they aren't policing traffic or quality of life issues and are focusing on things like violent crime and useless narcotics busts that don't put a dent in the actual root cause of drug addiction (abject poverty and chronic joblessness) so they look good in the paper every 2 months.
Nothing being done isn't a reason to become apathetic. I realize your frustration with local government and empathize but if we keep complaining and get people to listen to us, and get them out to vote we will make some real tangible changes in the city.
