Description

I work in an office park off Phoenix Boulevard (near the Airport), which is covered with hot melt due to frequent potholing. Over the Thanksgiving holiday I hit an enormous pothole at 1640 Phoenix Boulevard, which bent 2 rims and broke 2 wheel covers on my car. I had just purchased the tires the week before. When I went back the next day to find one of the wheel covers, I found it along the road in pieces, and next to 10 other wheel covers belonging to others who have suffered the same fate due to this mammouth hole. I am told by coworkers that a week earlier there was a metal plate over the hole that has since been removed.

I hit the same pothole and damaged my rim last night. This issue needs to be fixed.

It appears to me that major water mains are beneath Phoenix Boulevard, which require the road to be opened up frequently. This is the only possible explanation that I can come up with, as to why the county is so resistant to properly resurfacing it. It is a disgrace, and is not helping to attract businesses to the vast availability of office space in that area. The next time I feel that my vehicle has been damaged by these potholes, I will take the matter to the County Board and demand payment for compensatory damages. I just became aware that a coworker of mine did exactly that after damages that he suffered on Phoenix Boulevard.
