Description

My neighbor as well as many of our 1428 Facebook friends networked between us are learning to avoid the lower or southern section of North Main Street in Ansonia. One of my friends suffered a damaged tire and wheel replaced this weekend at a $425 cost. Her concern is posted within one of these See-It-Click-Fix links. I am only posting to say many of these friends live outside of Ansonia but access Ansonia from the Seymour and Oxford areas using this North Main Street route to enter Ansonia’s shopping and business center. Or what is actually left of the center. I live about ¾ of a mile from the offensive area which is the main Farrel manufacturing facet across from the fire house. Until the structure improves on public safety and appearance we are all committed through our pack together to avoid Ansonia’s shopping and business selections this day forward for our property and personal safety. It was really bad enough watching the drug deals and pan-handlers at the North Main and Forth Street corner where the convenience store and Puerto Rican restaurant reside. The area is growing 10 Fold with renter subsidies and gangs.
As of yesterday firefighters were collecting money right on top of and navigating through the debris . It was unclear whether they were collecting for the area visual improvements needed or for someone who was injured in the area.
Please Fix. Most of us will miss shopping and eating at Only for her and The Crave. The Target Store has actually taken on a new meaning this weekend forward.

Avoid Seymour, Shelton, Derby, Milford, Orange, Naugatuck, Bridgeport, Waterbury, Hartford, Danbury etc too. While you are at it, why don't you just avoid going out of your house. It is much to dangerous to go out and face reality and life. To single out an ethnic restaurant shows how truly racist you are. Go back to your suburb, lock the doors, and pray the out of work people who's jobs were eliminated by selfish greedy racist people like you, don't come to your neighborhood.

This seems to be an ongoing issue of blight in the subject area mentioned above. I guess it is a growing concern in that part of Ansonia but affects the entire town not just a few. It has been covered many times I see in these See It Click Fix posts. Wow reading through the posts above someone seems to have taken the original post to a whole new level of phyco-Socialogical isolation hitting a race button for some reason when the description points out and describes a location?

It's clear the original author of the complaint is racist. The location could have easily been described as the restaurant at the corner of North Main and 4th Street or by it's name: Bohique. Do you describe Burger King as the American burger joint on Division and Pershing? NO. Oh, and by the way, on it's Facebook page, it is described as Spanish.

So you saw a drug deal? Did you report it to the police? I'll bet not. If you and your 1428 Facebook friends reported crime, you could actually make a difference. But no, i'm sure you drove by, doing nothing... only to complain to your 1428 Facebook friends... and here of course, where you can feel good about your self that your warned everyone about how bad it is to visit Ansonia.

It's so shallow to post a complaint and criticize when your not required to supply your name to a comment and posting anonymously to a public forum must show how tough you are to voice an opinion of discontent. These blogs are read by city officials and addresses, and I do know our Public Works Dept. does, cheap underhanded remarks by anonymous bloggers mostly get ignored. If you want to be a responsible Ansonian then call you Ward Aldermen and let them look into this on your behalf. That's why you elected them. You're talking about the First Ward. Your Aldermen are Charlie Stowe and Ed Adamowski. Look up their phone numbers on the City website and make the call.

I agree with WATCHER, the Farrel buildings present look will only allow an affordable standard of living for me in this area. It will def keep my subsidies in place matching the current look,standard and quality of living. Please don't fix. Cheap is good.
