Description
.....Caution when entering or exiting the area of the corners of Main, North Main & State Streets in Ansonia, CT. Across from the old Armory there is a closed factory with debris coming off it caused by the high winds. A 9" x 10" piece of the building blew off and struck my 2013 Kia SUV. I was able to pick up the piece matching what appears to be a part from a elevated but decaying section of the factory and matches the paint left on my car. Many of other pieces of the factory are presently scattered in the road and sidewalk area also causing pedestrian obstructions.
I do not know who to contact other than my insurance carrier who will also investigate because the factory looks like it has not been in operation for some time?

Concerned Commuter: If you are referring to 35 N MAIN ST located East of the Armory, the incident should be reported to the property owner:
PANDEL PROPERTIES LLC
MAILING ADDRESS
132 SILVERMINE RD
SEYMOUR CT 06483
You should provide this information to your insurance carrier and they will pursue. I have attached a picture so you can confirm that this is the correct building.
If this is not the correct property then the source of the problem is likely the Farrel Building which is now owned by a new developer Washington Management, LLC
You can find owner information, valuations, photos, etc for all parcels in Ansonia, Derby, Seymour & Shelton by using the Valley COG GIS website located at:
http://www.valleycog.org/gis_parcel_maps.html
Just click on the town and then zoom into the parcel your looking for (or enter the address) and click on it to access and print all information (photo, property card, map, etc)
To go directly to their Ansonia Parcel Map, go to:

Me and a few other area residents have also voiced our same concerns about the now pictured building that is hurting Ansonia's profile for a very long , Long time. Good Luck. Not sure if that pic does any justice as it looks far worse than that.

I turned back to my house and decided not to spend another dime after driving by the North Main Street Farrell and AB properties convincing myself if that place could look like that way….why can’t mine. Eventually I was in process of cleaning after the renovation was completed because of the double standard conclusion any resident can draw on a blight ordinance in town. The law is not on a level playing field. It is totally voluntary.

Mark Pantalone, Diversified Electric Services owns that building. The mailing address is wrong on GIS. He has nothing to do with 132 Silvermine Road. He was evicted for nonpayment from there. He neglected to update his mailing address like he neglects the keep up the property.

I would notify the Ansonia Tax Assessor of the address issue if I were you. The GIS address comes directly from the Ansonia Assessor's tax records and is automatically updated weekly.
