I have lived in willowick fo over 35 years. I am tired of hearing about the aging sewer system. tThesewers are not layed correctly. There are too many streets feeding into the sewers that run to 305 and Bayridge. If your street is not running in the same direction, your street's water doesn't move! Look at the flooding areas E 300 runs the opposite direction of all of the others such as Harrison, Thomas, etc and Willowick Dr runs the opposite direction of all of the streets that feed in to Bayridge such as 307, 309 Dickerson, Royalview. Until they hire an expect, we will suffer with flooding. This has been a problem for over 36 years!

You are correct! Something needs to be done. They needed to fix this problem 36 years ago or I bet its been going on longer than that! The problem on E300 never exsisted until they put the new sewers and road in! I never , ever had a drop of water in my basement before the sewers and road went in. Now that the road is in if there is to much dew on the grass my basement floods! The only thing that has changed in the past 15 years is the road and sewers. IM not a detective but I have to point the finger at the new sewers as the problem! Rumor has it that the "T" at E300th and Royalview is either to small or put in wrong!The city cant give any answers to any of the questions asked of them. I have heard that the city is doing something to help the worst effected homes. I am still waiting to hear from them. You are correct-the city needs to hire an expert to resolve the problems that our past and present elected officals have let go for so many years! Has anybody considered that a lot of this started after the city let Allega fill in part of the retention basin on Lakeland Blvd. @ E. 305 ?

When did Allega fill in the basin? I bet it has something to do with it but I still feel that there is something wrong with the sewers on E300.

Willowick Residents! Well its been almost two months since our last flood and what has the city done to fix the problem or help its residents? The city states that they have sent a camera down all the mainline sewers and found nothing. They have sent the service director and a sewer foreman out to residents and they put on a smoke and mirror show on for the residents at the mayors request. The mayor mentioned helping the residents that have been affect the most but once again- Nothing on that. The mayor also stated there may be money for a backflow preventers to be installed for home owners but once again NOTHING!. The mayor has the city engineer looking into this problem with no findings yets ! SHOCKER. Why does it take someone over 5 years to find the flooding problem in Willowick? Time for an new engineer- one that wants to get the job done. If it took me 5years to resolve a problem at my work I wouldnt have a job- why does this guy get away with it.
I sent in my city issued survey weeks ago and still have not heard from them on my survey. They came out and scoped my laterals from my Tees to the mainline and found nothing. What a shocker once again since the sewers were just put in FIVE years ago! Still waiting on the DVD that the city said they would give to the residents when they were done with the scope process. It sure seems that the only time this issue gets any attention is when some unlucky resident gets water or worse yet crap in there basement.
City officals just because our basements dont have water in them doesnt mean there isnt still a major problem.TRUST ME IT WILL RAIN AGAIN!
I did want to say thank you to the city for putting in the new sewers on E300. Since they have completed the work I have had the chance to remodel my basement 3 times and have lost my water backup rider on my insurance.Prior to the new road I NEVER had a drop of water in my basement. Now when it floods i get to pay for ALL of the expenses out of pocket and we all know how much extra cash we have sitting around during these tough economical times. Not to mention there isnt a chance in hell that anyone will ever buy my home or even want to rent it from me when they find out that after a small amount of rain falls you may end up with a swimmimg pool in your basement, dont mind the floaters -they are just what comes out of the mouths of certain people in the city. So I ask the city again- What is going on with the sewers on E300? What is being done?

This flooding destroyed our basement and destroyed alot of personal affects. Willowick sucks.
