Description
Where can folks park when weather conditions make it necessary to get off the street for plows, etc. I've paid $100 ticket and hear of others in this area getting their cars towed, etc. & paying Big Bucks! At one point the library/church appeared to be available. Where can we park ? ? ?

this is an issue uptown as well. as it is currently, i have been able to find a spot in the municiple lot on north front street, though i assume others have not. is there other parking available?
before i was aware of what the snow emergency laws were, i had seen four uptown streets, cars parked bumper to bumper, with $100 tickets on each windshield. diners in uptown restaurants were also surprised one evening to find tickets on their cars after they had come out from dinner.
i do realize the regulations for snow parking are on the county lines. these signs are hard to read and honestly some are in an obscure place (i would never think to look for parking regulations posted by dunkin' donuts on ulster avenue).
is there a way to make residents and business patrons more aware of the parking regulations on snow days (what calls for snow emergency parking, alternative places to park) and are there designated parking areas more than the municipal lots?

I think Click Fix should follow the ACTIONS of Amtrak - EX: Announcements are continuously made as follows: IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING! Simple as that. HOWEVER,, they (AMTRAK) doesn't expect individuals to folloup - They (AMTRAK) send out their TEAM to investigate, monitor and FIX the problems. I've seen them send out their STAFF with dogs, etc.. It would be wise (NOT to expect individual citizens to put themselves at risk.) - the responsible READERS of these Alerts should be the AGENTS in charge of fixing the issue(s). Isn't this the reason Click Fix was made available to the public? ? ?

CAn people park in the parking lot of the Franklin AME Church or the parking lot right next to it (who this lot belongs to -- I don't know)? Or is the lot of the Hodge Center and/or the Kingston City Library. This issue has NOT been resolved. I for one would like signs put up WHERE residewnts can park when the snow plows are going through the City Sts. As it stands now, WE (neighbors DO NOT KNOW) and although there appears to be only three (3) votes to Fix this problem - PLEASE keep in mind that a lot of neighbors DO NOT HAVE AN INTERNET. Please either Post what areas are available for parking to eliminate UNNECESSARY EXPENSE of towing . Is this something KNW can resolve with the various establishments?

IT'S WINTER TIME AGAIN & THE ISSUE OF "WHERE TO PARK ON SNOW DAYS" SO ONE DOESN'T GET THEIR CAR TOWED OR TICKETED HAS YET TO BE RESOLVED. This issue has been on Click Fix for over one (1) year - QUESTION: Is "Click Fix" the solution ?

the reason you cant use the franklin st parking lot is because the city allows the repairshop ( Meraze ) to fill the lot with unregistered dilapitated cars that take away from the residents whom live in the area.the city owns that lot and dont control it the way they should

Here we go again. Where to park because of a snow emergency. I'm in my 60's and supposed to walk blocks in ice and snow because the three municipal lots are far from where I live. That's just crazy. I see a lawsuit somewhere in this.

Did anyone out there contact the Franklin St. Church to see IF they would permit local residents to park in their LOT? Who, is responsible to do this? I THINK that with SOoooo many churches, Preachers, etc. in the CITY of Kingston they should be called on to help RESOLVE Kingston's problems, be it PARKING ON SNOW DAYS and SAFETY issues especially surrounding areas where children live and play (Hodge Center/Kingston City Library) . They, plus the PAID responsible PERSONS should NOT leave the responsibility up to residents. Make thing CLEAR - Parking Permitted signs or No Drug Zone or No loose dogs, etc. and ENFORCE each and everything for the SAFETY of children and residents. By all means "include" these Missionaries of Good Faith to HELP resolve Kingston's issues.

Snow months of early 2013 - Obviously this PROBLEM of where to park on snow days has been FIXED; at least in the vicinity of the Franklin St. Church. Apparently, the Church Parking lot has been opened to residents in the area parking their vehicles.
Fortunately, residents NO LONGER will have their cars towed and have to endure a $100 Parking Violation Ticket. Kudos to those that LISTEN & FIX our problems in the City of Kingston, NY !

It's not fixed at all but go ahead and close it, it hasn't been fixed in 20 years and won't be. So at 60 something I park in the church parking lot on Franklin or the uptown municipal lots and walk to Maiden Lane. Lovely.
