Description
With the increasing developement in the southeast end of town, there are currently two ways into that whole area, one via Olive Deifenbaker Dr and the other is 15th and Muzzy Dr. That intersection has become increasingly busy and many times traffic is backed up to the railway tracks. Could the city PLEASE install a left turning arrow there, even if only for peak times. It would also help traffic coming out of that area make right hand turns to head downtown.

There would be no problem with this intersection if drivers would realize that the Highway Trafic Act allows you to pass on the right under these circumstances. The backup occurs when thru ntraffic sits in a lineup behind someone who is turning. People need to learn the rules. It not only happens at this but lots of intersections.

Frustrated - you are absolutely right, HOWEVER our city crews have piled up snow halfway onto the road so you have a hard time squeaking by and many drivers dont feel safe doing this, atleast in winter. I still think it needs a turning arrow. Just speed things up and is a safety issue too

Before the light was installed ...people used to just continue past in the right lane...slowing down slightly to check for pedestrians or exiting vehicles...but now I see people are very hesitant to go around someone...perhaps they think it is illegal?? Unfortunately most cars will move over enough to block the lane but will still not proceed.. making it impossible for any one else with brains to do so!

People need to check their facts, you are not allowed to pass on the right in this intersection. And yes, this is in the Highway Traffic Act. There is only one lane and if you go on the right to go around, you are basically passing on the right hand side. This would be the same if you passed another vehicle on the right on a highway. I'm one of the people who block the morons who try passing on the right. My child goes to Holy Cross School and kids do go across the entrance. If someone ever hit my kid while being an idiot and passing on the right, they better look the @#$% out. For those of you who think it's okay to pass on the right, please consult with SGI or the Traffic Section of the City Police.

Get rid of that light, it was safer without it. Also its a school area there, and the pileup makes it dangerous for crossing students, as the intersection is not really wide enough to "go around".
Are you sure that is really legal? I know lots do it, but I don't think it is.
